Turkmenistan develops shipbuilding with the support of Korean partners

The strategic modernization of Turkmenistan's maritime infrastructure in the Caspian Sea has reached a new stage. On October 14, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Korea Kim Jun Chol visited the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant to monitor the implementation of a joint project on the construction of two multipurpose cargo ships with a capacity of 6100 tons. During the meeting with Guichmurat Amanov, General Director of the shipyard, the prospects of expanding bilateral partnership in the shipbuilding industry were discussed. The project is implemented with the participation of South Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd (KSIT).

Kim Jun Chol expressed his gratitude to the KSIT staff for their professionalism, noting the effectiveness of joint efforts. The visit reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to using global experience to develop its shipbuilding potential, contributing to strengthening the country's position as a key logistics hub on the Caspian Sea.
