A briefing on combating drug threats was held in Ashgabat

A briefing on "Goals, objectives, achievements and prospects of CARICC as a regional mechanism for countering the drug threat" was held today in the Turkmen capital. It is reported Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The event was organized by the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting was attended by representatives of Turkmen ministries and agencies, foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova in her speech noted Turkmenistan's commitment to promote cooperation in combating modern threats, including within the framework of CARICC. Mr. A. Yazlyev, Director of CARICC, and Mr. O. Stolpe, Regional Representative of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, shared their views.
