The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ashgabat hosted the final national stage of the International Competition of Young Reciters "Living Classics", in which 15 schoolchildren competed for the right to perform at the international stage. According to the terms of the contest, it is necessary to demonstrate the skill of reading a prose work. Together with Turkmen pupils, reciters from 60 countries will take part in the "Living Classics" contest. The finalists read excerpts from works by Chingiz Aitmatov, Anton Chekhov, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Mikhail Sholokhov and Alexander Fadeyev.
8th grade pupil Sofia Orazova, 8th grade pupil Matvey Gulyanitsky and 10th grader Rustam Gudrutullaev will go to Russia to participate in the international stage of the contest from Turkmenistan.
