A monument to Belarusian poet, publicist and playwright Yanka Kupala is planned to be erected in Ashgabat. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenportal".
As part of the events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi, a park zone of Makhtumkuli Fraghi and a 60-meter monument to the poet will be opened in Ashgabat. The park also plans to install monuments to prominent foreign classics of literature. Among them is a monument to Yanka Kupala, a classic of Belarusian literature.
The Belarusian poet's work is a true encyclopedia of the life of the Belarusian people. Kupala contributed to the formation of a special technique of versification, brought his rhythms, intonations and meanings, determined the most promising paths along which Belarusian poetry is still developing today.
