European Bank launches internship program for Turkmen youth

EBRD to train Turkmen consultants to manage projects

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has opened a call for applications for an internship program for small and medium-sized businesses in Turkmenistan, offering local youth valuable on-the-job training in leading private companies. The EBRD representatives informed Arzuw NEWS.

The EBRD initiative aims to promote youth employment and improve the recruitment skills of Turkmen companies by providing two-month internships to students and recent graduates under the age of 25.

Internships will take place in carefully selected local SMEs starting in October 2023. Participants will receive preparatory training prior to the start of the internship to ensure that they are prepared to maximize the opportunities provided.

At the end of the two-month program, host companies will be able to offer candidates full-time employment, supporting the transition of young Turkmenistanis from education to employment.

Candidates can apply in the mode of online until August 31, 2023, places are allocated on a competitive basis. Candidates must be in their third or fourth year of university study or be recent graduates not older than 25 years of age.

The EBRD Internship Program is funded by the European Union as part of its commitment to support job creation and private sector growth in Turkmenistan.

Comments from EBRD and EU representatives may be added where appropriate. The program aims to continue the EBRD's engagement with the private sector and youth in Turkmenistan following the success of previous similar initiatives.
