Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister held talks with IOM representative

Today, April 2, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks with the regional coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Central Asia Zeynal Hajiyev. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation, including in the field of ensuring the rights of refugees and stateless persons. The topic of combating human trafficking was also touched upon.

The interlocutors emphasized the successful implementation of the "Plan of projects to be implemented by the Government of Turkmenistan together with the IOM Office in Turkmenistan in 2023". Plans of activities and prospects for further development of cooperation for the current year were discussed. The parties also noted the need to improve the legal framework for cooperation.
