On June 27, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Hou Qijun, a member of the Board of Directors and President of China National Petroleum Corporation CNPC, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed the current state of relations and prospects for further development of cooperation. The Minister and the President of the Corporation noted the positive dynamics of mutually beneficial and effective Turkmen-Chinese relations, which is given by regular meetings and negotiations at the highest level.
It was emphasized that the fuel and energy sector of the economy has great potential for bilateral cooperation. Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov noted that Turkmenistan intends to further implement projects to increase gas supplies to China.
