Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister meets with the head of the ILO

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Assistant Director General, Regional Director of the International Labor Organization for Europe and Central Asia Beata Andres on February 22. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides noted the intensification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Organization. The results of the high-level round table held on February 21 were reviewed. In the course of the conversation, plans for cooperation with the ILO in 2024 were discussed.

The prospects for Turkmenistan's accession to ILO conventions and opportunities for capacity building of Turkmen specialists were also discussed. Attention was paid to preparations for the International Labor Conference. The proposal of the Turkmen side to transfer the functions of ILO representatives to Ashgabat for coordination of work and regular dialog with the Government of Turkmenistan was also considered.
