On February 11, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov signed Decree on the appointment of Serdar Berdymukhamedov as Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistanand its inclusion in the State Security Council of Turkmenistan. The corresponding decree on the introduction of the new position was adopted during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council.
The leader of the Turkmen nation noted that the new deputy prime minister is tasked with the task of increasing the level of use of IT-technologies in various state spheres. We are talking about the work of government agencies, public organizations, the education and health systems, and the financial and economic sector.
The President stressed the need to introduce a new position to improve the work of the Cabinet and the State Security Council, as well as to increase control over state property, in particular with regard to the rational use of funds.
From February 2020, Serdar Berdymukhamedov was the head of Turkmenistan's Ministry of Industry.
