Ashgabat, July 16 - Arzuw.news. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Officials of Turkmenistan saw off the high-ranking guest at the capital's Hero-Arkadag International Airport. The airplane with the Turkmen delegation landed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, which was solemnly decorated with state flags of both countries.
The visit takes place within the framework of the development of good-neighborly and fraternal relations between the two states, which is defined as one of the priority directions of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. The foreign policy course based on the principles of peacefulness and laid down by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is being successfully implemented under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan is of long-term nature and has reached a qualitatively new level due to joint efforts in recent years. This visit of Hero-Arkadag clearly demonstrates further strengthening of relations between the two friendly neighboring states.
