On October 16, Islamabad hosted a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, which was attended by the Turkmen delegation headed by Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. It is reported Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the Turkmen side outlined priority areas of cooperation, including transportation, communications, energy, trade and investment. The head of the Turkmen delegation emphasized the intensification of cooperation on the implementation of projects territorially or structurally related to the SCO, including the TAPI gas pipeline construction project.
In the context of transport and logistics partnership, Rashid Meredov drew attention to the strategic importance of the North-South transport corridor.
The Turkmen Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the SCO countries for participation in the International Conference held in Ashgabat in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
