Turkmenistan holds talks with UN Assistant Secretary General

A meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the UN Assistant Secretary General for Security Institutions and Rule of Law Alexander Zuev was held on December 9, 2024. About it reports Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The UN Assistant Secretary General arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the International Conference "Joint Efforts to Strengthen International Peace and Sustainable Development" and other important events dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality.

During the meeting, attention was emphasized on the neutral status of Turkmenistan, which contributes to peacekeeping. The Turkmen side reported readiness to consider various forms of its participation in international peacekeeping operations based on its status of permanent neutrality.
