Turkmenistan held celebrations in honor of the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.
Members of Halk Maslakhaty, heads of military and law enforcement bodies, representatives of public organizations, honorary elders and mothers, representatives of labor collectives, as well as residents and guests of Ashgabat took part in the ceremony of laying flowers to the monuments on the territory of the memorial complex Halk hakydasy.
At the Milletiň ogullary monument, the participants paid tribute to the memory of those who fell for their homeland in the Geoktepi battle, at the Baky şöhrat memorial - to those who died in the Great Patriotic War, and at the Ruhy tagzym monument - to the victims of the Ashgabat earthquake. The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was played and the Honor Guard Company marched in front of the Memorial.
