Turkmenistan is actively working on the implementation of the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052, one of the urgent tasks of which is to increase production and export of chemical raw materials, including iodine. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."
Aitmammed Akmammedov, Chief Scientific Officer of the Nebitgazylmytaslama Institute of Turkmennebit GC, explained that iodo-bromine is formed in the layers of underground mineral and thermal waters. At present, the development of Monjukly, Ekerem, Cheleken, Guular and Boyadag fields, which are sources of iodo-bromine thermal waters, is ongoing.
The Balkanabat iodine plant of the Turkmenhimiya State Corporation processes raw materials from the Boyadag field. In Bereket etrap, new capacities for iodine production from raw materials of Guular and Chalja deposits were launched.
