General action on greening started in Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave a start to the fall greening campaign and participated in it together with members of the government, representatives of ministries, foreign diplomatic missions, students and residents of Arkadag city. This is reported by the online publication "Türkmenistan Habarlar Portaly".

Greening campaign is held in Turkmenistan twice a year - in autumn and spring in accordance with the National Forest Program until 2025. Last year, Ashgabat was awarded a certificate for assistance and contribution to the "Trees in Cities" initiative of the UN Economic Commission for Europe.

All velayats of the country take part in the fall landscaping campaign. The main types of trees planted are deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees, including thuja, pine and Arizona cypress. During the campaign, about 472 thousand coniferous, garden and fruit plants were planted, and along with the improvement of park territories and forest areas, 1 million 868 thousand trees were cared for.
