Turkmenistan hosts youth conference on climate change

A Youth Conference on Climate Change was held at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute in Dashoguz on September 3. It is reported Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The event was held to prepare for the COY19 Youth Conference and the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The event was attended by young people from 17 to 35 years old, young SDG ambassadors, eco-activists, students, representatives of the United Nations, British diplomatic mission, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.

During the event, which took place in the format of thematic sessions, the outcomes of the previous conferences were reviewed, in particular the issues of adaptation of agriculture and rational use of natural resources. Proposals were prepared for inclusion in the Youth Statement of Turkmenistan.

The final Youth Statement, which will be presented at the COY19 Youth Conference in Baku, will be adopted based on the results of meetings in all velayats of the country.
