The key direction of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is to establish strong relations with its neighbors in the region, who are united by common cultural and spiritual values. This is reported by the online publication Septralasia.news.
Central Asia expert Vadim Shagiakhmedov spoke about Turkmenistan's ties with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. In the context of cultural and humanitarian interaction between the countries of the region, mutual Days of Culture are regularly organized. The CA countries actively participate in joint celebrations on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
Within the framework of cooperation, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan agreed to erect monuments to Makhtumkuli Fraghi in Astana and Abai Kunanbayev in Ashgabat. Turkmen musicians took part in the Delphic Games in Kyrgyzstan, winning silver and bronze medals. Works by contemporary writers of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are published in both languages.
The streets named after Makhtumkuli in Tashkent and Navoi in Ashgabat, the Ashgabat Park in the Uzbek capital and the Tashkent Park in Ashgabat, as well as the Turkmen-Uzbek Friendship House "Turkmanlar Makhallasi" in the city of Urgench are symbols of friendship with Uzbekistan.
