Biology students from Turkmenistan mined at the Mendel's Biology International Olympiad 64 medalsof which: 7 - gold, 22 - silver and 35 - bronze. Schoolchildren from different provinces of Turkmenistan participated in the International Biological Olympiad.
The most "gold" - 4 medals - was won by the students of of a special boarding school from the city of Ashgabat. Another special school in the capital, No. 86, added two gold awards to the treasury of victories of young biologists. The seventh gold was won by pupils from special school No. 28 in Turkmenabat.
"Silver" was distributed as follows: 6 awards went to the same capital's special boarding school, 7 medals "earned" young biologists from the capital and Lebap region, and representatives of educational institutions of Dashoguz and Balkan regions received 1 award each.
Lebap schoolchildren have the most bronze prizes - 22, schoolchildren from Ashgabat and Dashoguz got 6 medals each, and the Olympians from Balkan velayat got only one bronze.
This year. Mendel's Biology International Olympiad was held online. Its participants were 230 students from 9 states. In addition to Turkmenistan and neighboring Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Iran, students from Nigeria, Canada, Bulgaria, and Iraq demonstrated their knowledge of biology.
