Turkmenistan's climate position published in 6 UN languages

In the course of the 28th sessions At the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai, the President of Turkmenistan made a statement of the country's national position on climate change and environmental security. Yesterday, the official online resources of the UN published the following text document on Turkmenistan's climate position. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The document, published in the 6 official languages of the UN, was circulated as an official statement of the 78th session of the General Assembly.

In its statement, Turkmenistan expressed its intention to join the Global Methane Commitment to reduce methane emissions.

In addition, the country announced that it will establish, together with UNEP, a legal framework for the opening of the UN Regional Center on Climate Change Technologies in Central Asia.

This demonstrates Turkmenistan's firm climate positions and readiness to contribute to solving the global environmental problem at the international level.
