A five-day conference on "New Language Learning Technologies and Innovations in Education" with the participation of U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Climow began January 8 at the International University of Humanities and Development. This is reported by the online publication "Türkmenistan Habarlar Portaly".
The event was organized under the auspices of "International association TESOL". The conference is attended by 250 teachers of English in Turkmenistan. The Ambassador noted that the development of cooperation between the U.S. and Turkmenistan in the educational sphere is one of the priority areas.
The diplomat emphasized that the U.S. Embassy plans to take part in the events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
