Farmers in Dashoguz province of Turkmenistan have already carried out preventive works at the receiving points before the beginning of the rice harvesting season. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
The harvesting campaign will involve John Deere and Claas harvesters, as well as vehicles for transportation of rice to the places of storage and processing. The new crop is based on the varieties "Nöküs-2" and "Bereket", which are characterized by high adaptation to local soil and climatic conditions and good productivity.
The total area of rice fields is more than 8 thousand hectares, mainly in the Saparmurat Turkmenbashi district. Farmers plan to harvest over 35 thousand tons of rice. High production figures are associated, among other things, with the increase in this year's state procurement prices for rice.
