Today in Turkmenistan was marked by the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and the obligatory for Muslims fast, during which purification of body and spirit occurs. A festive namaz was held in mosques all over the country.
The people of Turkmenistan hold sacred traditions-they gladly await the opportunity to take the test of faith, to purify themselves, and to become closer to God. People refuse to eat and drink from sunrise until sunset. After dark time of the day and obligatory prayer, it is allowed to eat until dawn.
During the holy month of Ramadan, people do charity, help the needy, try as little conflict as possible, extinguish negative emotions and awaken the soul for good deeds.
In 2022, the end of Ramadan falls on May 2.
