On the second day of the festival "Culture Week-2023" an excursion to the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Nisa", which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007, took place. This is reported in the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The guests were able to visit the open-air museum - the ancient settlements of Staraya and Novaya Nisa, which preserve traces of ancient civilization, combining local cultural traditions with elements of ancient Roman and ancient Greek art.
The visitors of the museum were familiarized with the history of studying the monuments of the Parthian kingdom and presented archaeological finds. The work carried out over decades allowed learning more about the life of the capital of the Parthian kingdom, located on the route of the Great Silk Road and had trade ties with Rome, India and China. Archaeological finds of Nisa are kept in museums of Turkmenistan.
