President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Hiroyuki Tsubai, a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of ITOCHU Corporation, President of the machine-building company and Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Economic Cooperation Committee.
The Japanese businessman noted the high interest of Japanese business circles in working in the Turkmen market, where a favorable investment climate and necessary conditions for fruitful activities have been created.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the long-term and strategic nature of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and support. The Head of State recalled his visit to Japan in April this year, during which high-level talks were held and significant agreements were reached.
During the April visit, the Turkmen delegation took part in the World Expo 2025 exhibition, where Turkmenistan was the first to hold the opening ceremony of the National Day and pavilion.
Hiroyuki Tsubai emphasized the importance of President Berdimuhamedov's proposals and initiatives voiced at the meeting with representatives of Japanese business circles and reported on measures taken to implement them. Large Japanese companies have already implemented a number of projects in the gas and chemical industries of Turkmenistan.
The President noted the role of the Japan-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation in expanding targeted cooperation. ITOCHU Corporation has participated in the implementation of a number of major projects in Turkmenistan, and the country is ready to further develop partnership with this company.
Hiroyuki Tsubai expressed gratitude for the favorable conditions created for the work of foreign companies and emphasized that ITOCHU Corporation highly appreciates cooperation with Turkmenistan.
