Turkmenbashi, July 31 - Arzuw.news. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the Balkan province to monitor preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This is reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The head of state arrived at the modernized Turkmenbashi International Airport, which is equipped with the latest equipment. During the flight, the President's plane flew over the city of Arkadag at the time of the opening ceremony of a new avenue and a modern bridge.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported to the head of state on the work done to prepare the complex for the international forum.
The resolution to hold the conference was adopted on April 11 at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly with the support of 57 states. On 4 July 2025, President Berdymukhamedov signed the Resolution on the organization of the Third High-Level UN Conference.
The Government of Turkmenistan and the UN signed an agreement on the organization of the forthcoming forum. The conference will include political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian events.
The President visited the Avaza National Tourist Zone where cultural events within the framework of the forum will be held. The head of state instructed to ensure a high level of organization of the international forum and cultural festivities.
After the working visit, the President returned to Ashgabat via Turkmenbashi International Airport.
