On September 10, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hassan. The guest conveyed cordial greetings from the XVII Supreme Ruler of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim bin Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, TDH reports.
Expressing gratitude to the Malaysian Foreign Minister for supporting Turkmenistan's policy of positive neutrality and its constructive international initiatives, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Turkmen state appreciates the high level of cooperation with the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international structures.
The parties noted the growing dynamics of interstate cooperation in trade and economic sphere. Special attention was paid to the oil and gas complex - one of the dynamically developing sectors of Turkmenistan's economy, where PETRONAS makes a significant contribution to the implementation of joint projects.
It was noted that the Malaysian company has been participating for many years in projects for the extraction of hydrocarbon resources in Turkmenistan, as well as its active work in training highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry of the country.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of face-to-face meetings at the highest level for the development of interstate dialog. In this regard, he expressed confidence that his forthcoming visit to Malaysia at the end of this year would give a new impetus to bilateral relations.
