President of Turkmenistan initiated the creation of a charitable foundation to support orphans

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has initiated the creation of a charitable fund to support orphans. The head of state announced this during a government meeting, noting that he would be the first to contribute from his salary to the fund. This non-profit organization will allocate funds to children without parental care for education and medical care, quality recreation and health improvement, as well as for other needs of citizens of this category.

The President noted that the newly established fund will be open not only to Turkmenistan citizens, but also to foreign citizens. The accounts will be serviced by the country's Central Bank.

The head of the Turkmen parliament, Gulshat Mammedova, supported the president's initiative, suggesting that the above-mentioned non-profit organization be named after Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov. This initiative was supported by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and other high-ranking officials.

The President and the head of the Mejlis signed a number of resolutions approving the structure, charter, and staff schedule of the new formation. According to the aforementioned documents, the organization has the following official name "The Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov Charitable Foundation for the Provision of Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov".
