Yesterday Hero of Turkmenistan, test-cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko received congratulations on the Day of Cosmonautics from Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov.
The leader of the state in his congratulatory message noted the honorable and important work of Oleg Dmitrievich, which contributes to the development of cosmonautics. He brought his sincere wishes of good health and new discoveries in the field of space exploration.
Oleg Dmitrievich Kononenko was born in the Turkmen SSR in 1964, in 2009 he received the honorary title of Hero of the Russian Federation. In Turkmenistan, Kononenko's merits were also recognized with the title of Hero - it happened in 2019. Receiving the well-deserved award, the cosmonaut stressed that he was proud to be a native of Turkmenistan and recognized the received title as a symbol of an unbreakable connection with the Motherland.
