President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to intensify contacts in the field of medicine and sports between the countries of Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). This is reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.
Speaking at a high-level summit in Jeddah, Berdymukhamedov said Turkmenistan is ready to host the Central Asian Medical Congress and the GCC in 2025.
"We are also ready for cooperation in the field of sports. We propose to hold the First International Sports Games of Central Asian States and GCC in Turkmenistan," the President added.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan is ready to provide modern specialized infrastructure for the games and create optimal conditions for their participants.
Berdymukhamedov's proposals were welcomed by leaders of other countries attending the summit.
Berdymukhamedov's proposals demonstrate his desire to strengthen relations with Central Asian and Persian Gulf countries. His proposed activities will promote cooperation in medicine and sports and help raise Turkmenistan's profile in the region.
