On June 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhallyev, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex, and khakims of velayats to review the progress of seasonal field work in the country, TDH reports.
During the meeting, the khakims of velayats reported on the pace of agricultural campaigns in the regions. As it was noted, the grain harvesting season is in full swing in the velayats of the country. Measures are being taken for organized harvesting, uninterrupted transportation of harvested wheat to receiving points and its proper storage, timely payment to farmers for the harvest.
On cotton fields of velayat thinning, weeding, feeding with mineral fertilizers and vegetative irrigation are carried out.
In accordance with the tasks set by the head of state to increase the volume of potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops produced in the country, as well as to further strengthen the food abundance, the harvest of these crops continues in the agricultural areas of velayats.
The provincial governors also reported on the status of construction sites of social and industrial facilities under the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028" and the National Rural Program, the commissioning of which is scheduled for this year.
In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhallyev noted that thanks to the support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the harvesting season continues at an intensive pace in the velayats. Appropriate work is being carried out to collect wheat without losses and its uninterrupted transportation to the receiving points, as well as timely payment to producers for the harvest delivered to the state. At present, over 1 million tons of wheat have been delivered to the harbormaster of the Motherland.
Inter-row cultivation, weeding and thinning, feeding with mineral fertilizers and vegetative irrigation are carried out on cotton fields of the country.
In the agricultural areas of the velayats, the maintenance of other crops, harvesting of the grown crops and provision of the markets with these products continue in a coordinated manner.
In Dashoguz velayat rice fields are being tended, and in Lebap velayat rice sowing is at the final stage.
Necessary measures are being taken in the country's forests, pastures and crop fields to prevent fires that may occur due to rising air temperatures.
Addressing the participants of the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the agricultural sector has an important role to play in strengthening food abundance in the country. The Head of State stressed the importance of ensuring a high level of organization of grain harvesting and instructed the provincial khakims to prepare for the next year's harvest of other crops and gave a number of instructions in this regard.
