A workshop was held in the Turkmen city of Mary, organized by UNDP in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The seminar was dedicated to the use of energy-saving lamps and the use of waste as an alternative energy source. The event was reported by the online publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
The participants of the event were familiarized with the experience of using renewable energy sources and implementation of energy efficient mechanisms. During the seminar, the specifics of energy inspection of electricity distribution networks and street lighting systems were discussed.
Utilization of solar and wind energy was considered. The participants of the seminar received information on the experience of sorting and recycling of solid domestic waste, as well as on the experience of implementing energy efficient street lighting systems.
