UNDP together with the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan organized the first webinar to train Turkmenistan's trade professionals in advanced IT and marketing technologies. Participants included representatives of stakeholder organizations and a number of relevant ministries. During the event, they discussed the latest progressive marketing and IT technologies, as well as the experience of their use in the trade industry. The possibility of online training of Turkmenistan's trade workers was also considered.
As noted by the participants of the seminar, the use of IT technologies helps first of all to improve the quality and increase the efficiency of services provided and goods offered. This will be the main difference from traditional methods of trading operations.
In addition to progressive international experience in the use of modern digital and marketing technologies, the event participants also considered the principles of e-commerce, its possibilities, transactional flows, marketing tools, and its global orientation. A number of other aspects of influence of information and communication technologies on improvement of trade efficiency were discussed as well.
The online seminar was held in accordance with the "Strengthening Turkmenistan's Trade Potential" program, which UNDP is implementing together with the Turkmen Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations. The goal of the project is to increase the competitiveness of the national workforce by making human intelligence a fundamental driver of Turkmenistan's economic growth.
