On January 17 of this year in Astrakhan the negotiations of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the authorities of the Astrakhan region, representatives of shipping companies and marine terminals of ports Astrakhan and Olya with representatives of the transport complex of Turkmenistan and the agency for communications under the Cabinet of Ministers were held.
The central issue of the meeting was the organization of regular cargo transportation between Russia and Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea. This is reported on the official website of the large Russian logistics coordinator Sovfracht (sovfracht.ru).
First deputy director of Sovfracht K.A. Stepanyan took part in the negotiations. The head stated the readiness of the joint stock company to take part in coordination of cargo transportation on the Caspian Sea between the ports of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan. The company has all necessary resources to perform the functions of both cargo carrier and line operator.
Sovfracht's participation will make it possible to reduce the delivery time between Russian and Turkmen ports, which will contribute to an increase in trade turnover.
