The Turkmenistan national soccer team is preparing for the June 2022 World Cup.
Rovshan Mukhadov, the head coach of Turkmenistan's national team, has already decided on the coaching staff. Said Seyidov, Kamil Mingazov and Begench Garayev will coach the players, while Pavel Matus will work with the goalkeepers.
Also, 37 players who will be included in the expanded national team of Turkmenistan - 33 field players and 4 goalkeepers were determined. 16 of them represent the club "Altyn Asyr", 13 - "Akhal". Two players from clubs "Ashgabat", "Kopetdag", "Nebitichi" and "Shagadam" were also included in the composition.
In order to prepare for the June group qualifying matches on April 3-4, 2021 held a two-day training camp in the capital's sports complex "Ashgabat.
Early summer opponents of the Turkmen athletes will be the teams of South Korea (June 3), Lebanon (June 11) and North Korea (June 15). The June games will be held in South Korea.
Previously, the national Turkmen team has already played five rounds, getting 9 points and the first position in Group H. The same group includes the national teams of North Korea, Lebanon, South Korea and Sri Lanka. The first three teams have eight points each, and the Sri Lankan team has zero. However, the South Korean players have played one less game so far.
