The Ashgabat weightlifting championship is scheduled for April 11 this year in Turkmenistan. The best athletes of Turkmenistan, both men and women, will come to the sports complex "Ashgabat" for the championship.
And the following week, from April 16 in the main city of Uzbekistan - Tashkent - the qualifying championship of Asia among the best weightlifters of the region will start, which will end on April 25. During this week, the leading athletes of Asian countries will demonstrate their training and have a chance to win a trip to the Tokyo Summer Olympics. The Ashgabat tournament is also designed to demonstrate the readiness of Turkmen weightlifters to perform at international competitions.
At present, the number of applicants for the Olympic Games is a record for Turkmenistan. Ten athletes - Y. Jumabaeva, K. Shermetova, A. Toichieva, G. Kadyrova, P. Gureeva, R. Rejepov, H. Toichiev, O. Ovezov, M. Meredov and S. Mirzaev - are going to demonstrate their skills to the world. Never before in the history of the Turkmen national weightlifting school have there been so many worthy athletes ready to defend the honor of the country at the Olympics.
