President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the II Theatre Festival of the member countries of the International Turkic Culture Organization (TURKSOY) on the opening of the festival held in independent neutral Turkmenistan, TDH reports.
The congratulatory message of the President of Turkmenistan notes that the international events organized by TURKSOY in the Turkic-speaking states contribute to the strengthening of friendly and fraternal relations between the peoples. Active participation of Turkmen poets and prose writers, bakhshi, musicians, artists in contests, festivals, exhibitions and concerts organized under the auspices of TURKSOY further enhances the authority of Turkmenistan in the world.
The Turkmen head of state emphasized that the events held in Turkmenistan and abroad on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East Makhtumkuli Fraghi and the declaration of 2024 as the year of "The Treasure of Mind of Makhtumkuli Fraghi" play a great role in popularizing the rich literary heritage of the great master of words in the world. The declaration of 2024 at the regular meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council in 2022 as the "Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Makhtumkuli Fraghi" and the declaration of the city of Anau as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World gave a new impetus to the further development of cooperation between creative workers of the Turkmen and Turkic-speaking peoples.
In his congratulatory message, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the final meeting of the members of the TURKSOY Museums Union, the festival of artists, as well as the meeting of writers of the TURKSOY member countries, which will be held in the framework of the theater festival, will discuss the issues of development and improvement of culture, art and literature of the Turkic peoples.
The head of state expressed confidence that this festival, having gathered creative figures of Turkic states in white-marble Ashgabat, will become a true celebration of theatrical art, which will reveal its magic power and stage performances will make an unforgettable impression on the audience.
