President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed an extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers, TDH reports.

In his speech, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the main event of the year was the International Conference "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis for Peace and Development" held in Ashgabat, which was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.

- This international forum has increased the authority of Turkmenistan as a peace-loving state, demonstrated the great respect of the world community for our country, the Turkmen people, its rich history and culture, the head of state emphasized in his speech.

The adoption of the Resolution "Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia" at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on Turkmenistan's initiative was also an important event. We are honored by the support of many UN member states for this proposal, said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, cordially congratulating everyone on these historically significant events in the life of the country and the successes achieved.

Our activities, the head of state continued, should be carried out mainly in two directions, in particular, bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. In order to implement the Global Security Strategy in the future, Turkmenistan should attach special importance to increasing the number of states supporting the initiative to grant neutral countries the status of priority partnership with the United Nations in the United Nations peacekeeping efforts.

As noted, a new Department of Foreign Policy Information and Digital Diplomacy was recently established within the structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a Decree was adopted to introduce the position of press attaché in a number of our country's embassies. All this work - complex steps - is aimed at achieving one goal, in particular, to publicize in the world the successes achieved by our country, to explain the essence of foreign policy.

We should popularize the rich history, culture, traditions, ancient monuments, unique nature, modern "smart" cities, successes achieved in all spheres of our neutral state. For this purpose, all Embassies in the host countries should organize creative meetings, close cooperation with prominent Oriental scholars, experts and journalists in the field of history, archaeology and culture.

In 2025, the main task of our country's foreign policy and diplomacy is to implement the resolutions recently adopted on Turkmenistan's initiative by the General Assembly of the United Nations. In this context, emphasis was placed on the importance of close interaction, in addition to the UN member states, with the Secretariat of the Organization.

Equitable and mutually beneficial relations with European and American countries based on the principles of mutual respect will be further developed. At the same time, special attention will be paid to cooperation in such areas as high technologies, transition to "green" energy, and introduction of artificial intelligence.

In addition, Africa should be given a great deal of attention in foreign policy.

In continuation of his speech, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed Turkmenistan's representatives to international organizations. As it was noted, in the coming year, great importance will be attached to multilateral diplomacy. In this context, the importance of conducting relevant work to increase the number of countries supporting Turkmenistan's position as a neutral state and providing effective assistance to our country in this endeavor was mentioned.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is carrying out program activities to ensure a worthy meeting of significant dates and holidays. In this regard, the Organizing Committee on holding events to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust was established in September this year, the head of state stressed, instructing the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare for the first meeting of the Organizing Committee in January next year and submit proposals on the agenda. The meeting will approve the Plan of the upcoming events, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

- Together with the international community, we should work hard to honor the historically significant and significant dates - the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the events of the International Year of Peace and Confidence - with remarkable events and great achievements in 2025," the head of state emphasized.

In conclusion, a firm belief was expressed that large-scale activities will be carried out to protect the interests of the independent neutral Fatherland in the international arena.
