Ashgabat is negotiating the conditions for the establishment of a Russian-Turkmen university

Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin told a press conference on December 18, 2024 that the development of an agreement on working conditions, establishment and construction of a Russian-Turkmen university in the Turkmen capital is at the final stage. This is reported by the Internet resource "AsmanNews.

Ivan Volynkin noted that about 47 thousand students from Turkmenistan are currently studying at universities of the Russian Federation. The most demanded are universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Volgograd and other Russian cities.

The Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan also spoke about the progress in coordinating the construction of a new building of the Joint Russian-Turkmen school named after A.S. Pushkin for junior school pupils.

Recall that the initiative to establish a joint Russian-Turkmen university was proposed in December 2022.
