Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Japan Yoko Kamikawa met in Tokyo on January 23. This was reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
During the meeting the parties noted the expediency of organizing mutual visits at the highest level. The issues related to the organization of the First Summit of the Heads of State "Central Asia - Japan" were considered. Within the framework of inter-parliamentary cooperation the forthcoming mutual visits of parliamentarians were defined.
In addition, during the talks the sides reached an agreement on holding regular inter-ministerial consultations and expanding contacts of the countries' representatives at international organizations.
The sides also discussed the development of ties in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Promising areas of cooperation were identified, including digitalization, information technology, nature conservation and climate change.
