Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with the newly appointed Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat John MacGregor, who presented his credentials and confirmed his readiness to support with all his might the expansion of interaction of the represented organization with our country. The diplomats reviewed progress in the implementation of current joint projects and discussed the vectors of bilateral partnership.
R. Meredov and J. MacGregor emphasized the importance of combining efforts to confront threats and challenges of our time both regionally and globally, as well as directly, coordinating activities in the areas of information and environmental security.
The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry and the OSCE representative highly appreciated the bilateral humanitarian partnership and the intensified dialogue between Turkmenistan and the OSCE structures.
They also discussed strengthening of transport and energy cooperation, including the formation of initiatives on sustainable energy in the OSCE format. Representatives of Turkmenistan and the OSCE exchanged views on possible projects to optimize the functioning of the East-West transport corridor.
An agreement has been reached to maintain an active dialogue between Turkmenistan and the OSCE to achieve joint goals.
