Athletes from Turkmenistan have won thirteen awards at the Asian Sambo Championship held in the capital of Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan's sambo wrestlers brought home two golds, two silvers and nine bronzes.
"The gold medal was won by Turkmenistan's Muhammed Kossekov (up to 64 kg in combat sambo) and Charymurad Annakurbanov (up to 98 kg in combat sambo). "Silver" - Rano Uzakova (in weight up to 74 kg on "combat sambo"), Babadjan Ivadullaev (in weight over 98 kg on "combat sambo"). "Bronze" in "Sports Sambo" - Ruslan Esgerov (in weight up to 98 kg), in "Combat Sambo" discipline - Aziza Nazarova (in weight up to 50 kg), Rushana Nurjanova (in weight up to 54 kg), Madina Aydogdiyev (in weight up to 59 kg), Violetta Krovyakova (under 65 kg), Jahan Mukhammedova (under 80 kg), Yusup Tanriberdiyev (under 58 kg), Rejepnur Agaev (under 71 kg), Jovlanbek Madaminov (88 kg).
Turkmenistan was represented at the Asian championship by 22 athletes, the chairman of the national sambo federation, Alai Niyazmengliyev, coaches Shohrat Annamukhammedov, Nurmurad Annamukhammedov and Yanar Hojamukhammedov.
