Turkmenistan's chess champion is known

Lala Shokhradova, a 17-year-old athlete from Lebap velayat, who is a FIDE master, won the first place in the tournament of the highest league of Turkmenistan. This is reported in the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Fourteen of the country's strongest female chess players competed for the title of champion. The competition was held under the round robin system. Lala Shohradova scored 10.5 points, 0.5 points ahead of her main rival Meriem Agadjanova, a first-rate chess player, who took the second place. The third place in the tournament was won by Ogulsuray Bayrambaeva. The pupil of Serdar Bayramsahedov scored 9 points.

Lala Shokhradova started practicing chess from the age of 5, and already at the age of 9 she won the champion title in Thailand among the opponents of her age category. At the age of 12, the young chess player made her debut as a member of Turkmenistan's national team at the World Chess Olympiad-2018. Shohradova's record includes the title of the winner of the national championship among girls under 16, as well as a victory in Rapid in November 2022. Throughout these years, the girl has been coached by Gulkhan Kurbandurdyeva.
