Students of Turkmenistan have shown impressive results at the International Mathematical Olympiad (NCUMC-2021), organized by the St. Petersburg ITMO University. Over 350 students representing 40 universities from different countries of the world took part in the competition, which was held among universities of the Nordic countries.
Two representatives of Turkmenistan were in the top ten of higher education institutions according to the results of the competition. The fifth line of the top 10 was taken by the Makhtumkuli TSU, and the sixth by the International University of Humanities and Development.
The best results were demonstrated by the students studying at the Makhtumkuli TSU - R. Bakhtiyarov, A. Akamuradov, M. Bayramov, and M. Sapaev. They conquered four first positions. Another three first lines were also taken by their compatriots - G. Dovletov (State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, Mary), P. Iljanov (International University of Humanities and Development), A. Tirkeshov (Institute of International Relations of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry).
The winners were awarded diplomas, in accordance with the results achieved. It should be noted that the official language of the International Olympiad was English. Therefore, NCUMC-2021 participants representing Turkmenistan demonstrated not only excellent mathematical but also excellent linguistic skills.
