Ashgabat, July 8 - Arzuw.news. Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, Kaya Kallas expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for providing a humanitarian corridor for EU citizens traveling from Iran to their host countries.
The central topic of the talks was the discussion of prospects for further development of relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union. The parties considered a wide range of issues on strengthening political and diplomatic interaction.
Special attention was paid to the results of recent multilateral events. The interlocutors noted the effectiveness of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian states and the EU High Representative, which was held in Ashgabat in March of this year.
The importance of the first summit of the leadership of the European Union and Central Asian states, held in April in Samarkand, was also emphasized.
During the telephone conversation, the two sides touched upon regional and international issues of mutual interest.
