The President of Turkmenistan held a telephone conversation with the Head of Iran

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi had a telephone conversation on December 19, 2023. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized that the effective Turkmen-Iranian relations between the countries are currently developing on the basis of mutual respect and trust. Trade and economic sphere, particularly in the fields of energy and transportation, was named one of the priority areas of cooperation. In this regard, the importance of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized.

The interlocutors also emphasized the great opportunities for further strengthening of partnership ties between the countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, in particular in education, sports, science and culture.
