Weightlifters of Turkmenistan are ready to represent the country worthily at the Olympics

Weightlifters of Turkmenistan continue to prepare for the Olympics-2021, which will be held in the summer in the Japanese capital, the city of Tokyo. At the moment the athletes are preparing for the qualifying competitions. Based on their results, the winners of tickets to participate in the main sporting event of the four years will be determined.

The training camps are conducted by experienced mentors, taking into account the best practices in the field of sport. Among highly qualified specialists tuning Turkmen athletes for a worthy performance are Merited coaches Artur Emiryan and Ikram Matkarimov, as well as international master of sports Umurbek Bazarbaev, who has participated in the Olympic Games four times.

Among the strongest weightlifters is Rejepbai Rejepov, a native of Dashoguz province. He is a member of the Turkmen national men's team and has already become a master of sports of international class. In addition, Rejepov is a representative of a sports dynasty.

December last year brought the weightlifter a confident victory at the open championship of Turkmenistan in weightlifting in the 81 kg category. The event was held in the capital's Olympic town. Rejepbai showed excellent results by lifting 145 kilograms on the snatch and 175 kilograms on the jerk. As a result, he grossed 320 kg, which ensured his triumph.

In addition, he won the Asian Cup in 2011 and won a silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships in Thailand the same year. He won another silver at the 2017 World Championships in Anaheim, USA. The same year, the weightlifter won the 2017 Asian Games.

Now the weightlifters are set a goal to win a ticket to the main sporting event of this year, showing good results and achieving new achievements in their discipline.
