Turkmenistan and Japan discuss expansion of cooperation

Meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the Deputy President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Deputy President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation Kazuhiko Amakawa on September 5. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Japanese side highly appreciated the economic achievements of Turkmenistan and confirmed the interest of Japanese business circles in working in the Turkmen market. Kazuhiko Amakawa noted that the economic reforms carried out in the country form a favorable environment for doing business.

The Turkmen leader emphasized the significant contribution of Japanese companies to the effective use of the country's economic potential. Special attention was paid to the plans to diversify the development of natural resources.

The parties discussed Turkmenistan's large-scale projects in the sphere of natural gas production and processing. President Berdimuhamedov expressed readiness to consider specific proposals of the Japanese side in this area.

During the talks, it was noted that business ties between the two countries are built on the principles of mutual respect and equality. Regular high-level visits contribute to the strengthening of bilateral partnership.

The representative of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation expressed readiness to intensify cooperation in new areas. The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence in the effective development of partnership on a mutually beneficial basis.
