Turkmenistan became a member of the UNICEF Executive Board

Turkmenistan became a member of the UNICEF Executive Board as a result of voting held during the Organizational Session of the UN Economic and Social Council. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan will serve as a member of the UNICEF Executive Board from 2024 to 2026. Previously, Turkmenistan has already been elected to this position on the UNICEF Executive Board in 2018-2020.

Turkmenistan is a member of 13 UN committees, councils and commissions and has already been elected 7 times as Vice-President of the UNGA. Turkmenistan's functions as a member of the UNICEF Executive Board include reviewing and coordinating the activities of the UN Children's Fund, approving its policies, programs and funding.

For Turkmenistan, the activities within the framework of the Fund are a good opportunity to exchange experience and practices in the field of children's rights.
