Turkmenistan and the EBRD are considering new areas of cooperation

Representatives of Turkmenistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development held talks, during which they considered new areas of cooperation. The Turkmen side was represented by the delegation of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and the EBRD by the head of the Ashgabat branch Fatih Turkmenoglu. Representative of the Bank Anton Usov told about the meeting and its results.

The EBRD has set a goal to further explore new vectors of partnership with the Turkmen government in the municipal sector. The authorities of Turkmenistan presented a number of interesting projects for which they plan to attract investments and which are available for joint study. The EBRD representative responded that the participants of the meeting discussed the details of these projects.

Earlier A. Usov informed that Turkmenistan in cooperation with the EBRD plans to implement in 2021 a number of new joint projects.

The representative of the EBRD reminded that the financial institution finances private companies, the areas of activity of which are hotel business, processing and supply of food, logistics and transport services, production of furniture and packaging.

Although the Bank focuses on financing investment projects, this is not always enough for medium and small businesses to cope with all the problems that arise. Therefore, in addition to finance, the Bank provides entrepreneurs with access to business advice that contributes significantly to growth and success.
