Turkmenistan and UNICEF discuss priorities for cooperation in the coming years

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna. The central topic of the talks was the implementation of the new UNICEF Country Programme for 2026-2030, which was approved by the Executive Board of the organization in September 2025 in New York. During the conversation, the parties reviewed the key areas of joint work within the framework of this document. Particular attention was paid to such priorities as early childhood development, inclusion, the climate agenda and youth engagement.

The sides also discussed the participation of the UNICEF delegation in the forthcoming International Peace and Confidence Building Forum to be held in Ashgabat in December 2025. In addition, the sides touched upon the topic of further strengthening the legal framework of bilateral cooperation.
